Frequently Asked Questions
What is the process of starting therapy with you?
To get started, please contact me using the form on this website. You can either request for a free 15-minute consultation or ask me to set up an intake appointment directly. An intake session will involve a comprehensive evaluation of your concerns and therapy needs. By the end of this evaluation, I will be able to offer initial impressions of what our work might include, we will discuss your treatment goals, and we will schedule ongoing weekly sessions.
How often will I see you and how long does a session last?
Most of my clients have one therapy session per week, which is 50 minutes long. Depending on your needs and therapeutic goals, I am able to offer more intensive work, such as providing several sessions weekly or a longer 80-minute session weekly. We will collaboratively decide on this during your intake evaluation.
What are your fees and are sessions covered by my insurance?
My fees start at $250 per session and they vary depending on the service provided (e.g., individual versus couples session) and the session length. Nevertheless, finances should not be a barrier to mental health treatment. I am able to offer sliding scale and I occasionally provide low-fee programs for those who cannot access mental health care. Please do not hesitate to talk to me about any of this.
I do not accept insurance. If your insurance plan provides coverage for out-of-network providers, I will provide your monthly invoice (superbill) that you can submit for reimbursement.
Do you offer sessions in person?
Yes. My office is located in a modern, newly renovated suite at 185 West End Avenue in New York City, where in-person treatment is available. Additionally, I provide telehealth services to clients in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California.
Will you collaborate with other providers I see?
Absolutely! With your written permission, I will coordinate with your primary care physician, psychiatrist, or other specialists to make sure that you receive the care you need. When I work with adolescents and families, I regularly collaborate with school counselors and teachers as well.
